The Woodbridge Lions Club has announced their fundraising total for the period up to Christmas.

In total the club raised £1,091 through their collection in December which will now be used to support local causes.

The popular sleigh rides in the town helped to raise almost £350 alone with further money coming from collection at Tesco Martlesham Heath and at the Turban Centre.

A spokesman for the club said: “Woodbridge Lions Club would like to thank everyone who contributed so generously to our street and store collections in the run up to Christmas and special thanks to Tesco Martlesham Heath and Suffolk Coastal District Council for their kind permission to hold collections.”

All the money raised will be going back into the community through the projects that the club run including the Christmas parcels project and Quay Time, which is run with the Woodbridge Quay Church.
