The outgoing mayor of Woodbridge Town Council has handed over thousands of pounds after fundraising for two charities while in office.
David Mortimer presented two cheques, each to the value of £2,325, to the Woodbridge Soldiers Fund and the Woodbridge Rotary.
The presentation was one of Mr Mortimer's last duties before standing down as both mayor and a councillor.
Speaking of his time in the role, Mr Mortimer said: "It has been an honour to serve my town and its people for the last year.
"I have met so many truly inspiring people who live and work in Woodbridge.
"During the year, Woodbridge came second in the 'best British high street' competition and I thank everyone connected with Choose Woodbridge who enabled this to happen.
"Woodbridge was also judged as the second best place in East Anglia to live.
"We should be really proud of our town."
